Fall in Love with the Season – JMIT Autumn Edit
It is officially the first day of fall, or the autumn equinox, in the Northern hemisphere, though the season has already been teasing us with previews of brisker mornings the last couple of weeks here in Atlanta. Nothing is more invigorating for me than that moment when you start to feel the slight drop in temperatures and the introduction of those deep fall colors on the trees. It is my absolute favorite season. I’ve never had to sip a pumpkin spice latte to get into the mood for it, but I do start to make use of root vegetables, incorporate spices and leafy greens into my cooking, and seek those destinations where I’m likely to get my fill of multi-color hues.
Best Places to Catch Fall Colors in the Southeast
Within driving distance of Atlanta is the start of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Appalachian Trail, which are perfect spots to see the leaves turn.
