Join Me In Transit

Friends, I’m excited to announce the official relaunch of this blog.
Welcome to “In Transit: Journeys through far-off places, food, fitness & finding fulfillment.” I invite you to join me through my trials and triumphs as I navigate foreign terrain, healthy vegetarian cooking and (sometimes failed attempts at) exercise on my ultimate quest for inner peace and well-being.

I began this blog in 2008, just as I was completing undergraduate studies in Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida. I wanted a space to write freely about anything, but I mainly wrote about my travels and reflections on work experiences. It was a creative outlet for me. To this day, some of the posts of which I am most proud are from when I lived in India for four months with my grandmother while completing internships at CNN-IBN and The Hindu (January-April 2009), and from when I lived in New York for an MBA internship with the Associated Press (May-August 2013).

Since then, I graduated from business school and switched careers, but I missed writing and still craved a creative release. Therefore, in 2015 I decided to give this blog more direction and focus on key areas that were of interest to me, and that I found myself talking about passionately with friends: expanding my travel experiences and seeing new things; becoming a better cook; pushing myself to get into better shape; and finding fulfillment through my career, faith, and personal relationships. In turn, these pursuits have shaped the person I am and my perspectives, hence, the title of the blog.

Join me for the journeys

Each of these continues to be a journey, and I’d love for you to join me along the way. I’m looking to you for feedback on the content that resonates most with you. Additionally, to avoid cross-posting on my personal page, I have now launched a separate Facebook page, @joinmeintransit.com, as well as an Instagram profile, @intransitblog, that features the best photos from my travel and culinary adventures. Feel free to like and follow on these pages as they are separate from my personal accounts, or you can subscribe directly to the blog via email.

Finally, thank you for joining me for the ride.
